Set a preview's status: Active, Paused, Pending, or your own stage
How do I change a preview's status, or add my own status like In review? Every preview has a status. It starts as one of Active, Paused, or Pending, and you can make up your own, such as In review or Sent to client. The status is a label for your team. It does not change the ad on Google, Meta, or anywhere else.
Where do I change the status?
- In the editor, the status pill sits at the top left of the bar above the ad, before the format name. It shows a coloured dot and the status, for example Active.
- On a dashboard, the Stage column of the Previews list shows the same pill on every row.
Click the pill to open the list, then click the status you want. The pill changes straight away, in the editor and in the list.
How do I add my own status?
- Click the status pill.
- At the bottom of the list, type a name in Add new status... It can be up to 50 characters.
- Press Enter, or click the add button beside the box.
The new status is set on that preview, and it is added under Custom Statuses in the list, so you can pick it on other previews too. If a status with that name already exists, the preview simply takes that status.
Why can't I click the status?
When you cannot edit the preview, for example as a viewer, the pill only shows the status, with no list. On a client the Free tier cannot edit right now, the Stage column shows the status greyed out. Ask someone who can edit the preview to change it.
Does my client see the status?
The status is for your team. Changing it does not send anything to your client and does not change the share link. Your client does see the status pill on the shared page. On a Viewer or Commentor link it only shows the status and opens no menu. On an Approval or Editor link, which are Studio features, your client can change it.
