Draft copy with AI
PPC Ad Editor writes ad copy with AI in three places. Draft with AI builds a whole preview from a website or your documents. Suggest copy writes new lines beside the headlines and descriptions in the editor. Apply using AI turns a client's comment into an edit. AI drafting is on the Free tier and on Studio.
How do I draft a whole preview with AI?
- On a dashboard, click New Preview. Pick where you want to advertise and the format, and name the preview. You can also use Quick build.
- Under How do you want to start?, pick Draft with AI, then click Continue to AI draft.
- Create AI Preview opens. Enter the Website URL, or add files under Source Documents, or both. Source Documents takes PDF, DOCX, TXT, and Excel files up to 10MB each.
- Pick the Language: Auto-detect, English, or Danish. Add Guidance if you want, such as the tone or what to avoid.
- Click Generate Preview.
Building your preview… shows four steps: Read your inputs, Built your campaign structure, Writing your ads, and Open in the editor. It takes about 20 seconds. Click Continue in background to open the editor while it keeps going. The editor opens with the same progress steps on screen instead of an empty preview, and it fills in your finished headlines, descriptions and website as soon as the draft is ready. You do not need to refresh the page. If the draft fails, an Edit the preview anyway link under the progress lets you start editing by hand.
What does Draft with AI build?
A full campaign structure, not only copy. It reads your site or documents, builds campaigns and ad groups with keywords grouped, then writes one or two ads per ad group. It also adds sitelinks, callouts, and structured snippets. Everything stays editable in the editor.
Are sitelinks or snippets from Draft with AI cut off mid-word?
No. Each sitelink, snippet value and callout that Draft with AI writes ends on a whole word. A phrase longer than the field ends at the last whole word that fits, so you never get half a word such as Experienc. A single long word that cannot fit at all is left out rather than saved in pieces. Text you type yourself into these fields is not changed. Callouts, sitelink text and snippet values fit 25 characters, and sitelink descriptions fit 35. If a sitelink's text or first description ends up empty this way, that sitelink is left out.
What if a draft fails or I close the window?
The draft keeps building if you close the window, and progress shows in the dashboard's Previews list. The bell shows Preview Ready when it finishes, or Generation Failed if it does not. A failed or stalled draft has a Retry button in the Previews list. Cancel build stops it and keeps an empty preview so you can retry.
If Create AI Preview rejects the Website URL, the message says why, such as Page not found (404), Website not found, or The website took too long to respond. Try another page on the site, or add documents instead.
If the site blocks automated visits, returns an error, or does not respond, Create AI Preview does not stop. The We couldn't read this page window opens, and you pick Web search, Another page, or A short description, then click Generate. The Website URL you typed stays as the ad's Final URL. If the page you give under Another page cannot be read either, the button reads Checking... while the page is tried, and the window opens again so you can choose a different source.
If the first AI writer is unavailable or refuses the request, the same source is written once more automatically. You do not pick a writer and no second credit is used.
Can I use Draft with AI for Multi-Channel or Programmatic?
No. Draft with AI is greyed out for Multi-Channel and Programmatic, and those previews start from scratch. Every other channel in New Preview can use it. After a Multi-Channel preview exists, open it and use Suggest copy. If Draft with AI is missing everywhere, AI copy is turned off for you or your workspace.
How do I use Suggest copy in the editor?
Suggest copy sits beside the headlines and the descriptions. Click it, and the editor researches the ad's Final URL, writes new lines, and adds them to that section. A progress window such as Generating Headlines shows each step. On Meta ads, Suggest copy fills primary text, headlines, and descriptions, and needs a valid Website URL first. LinkedIn sections have Suggest Copy from AI.
The language menu next to Suggest copy offers Auto-detect, English, or Danish. The choice is remembered for the dashboard.
How do I choose what Suggest copy reads?
Click the ··· button next to Suggest copy, which is More AI options, then Add brand context. The AI Source Data panel opens:
- Landing page research reads the ad's Final URL. Without one, it says to add a Final URL to the ad.
- Your documents adds brand or product docs, such as PDF, DOCX, TXT, MD, XLSX, or CSV files up to 10 MB.
- Recycle existing ads reuses your Headlines or Descriptions.
- Ad assets uses your Sitelinks, Snippets, Callouts, or Business names.
- From picks This preview or Entire dashboard.
Click Done. If nothing is selected, the panel warns that suggestions will be generic.
What happens when Suggest copy cannot read my page?
Suggest copy checks the Final URL before it writes. If the site blocks automated visits, returns an error, or does not respond, a window opens: We couldn't read this page. It asks where to write from:
- Web search, marked Recommended. It searches the web for the business name and site.
- Another page. A different page from their site, a store, or Facebook.
- A short description. A few words on what they sell, and to whom, up to 300 characters.
Nothing is picked at first, and Generate stays greyed out until you choose. Click Generate to write from that source. Cancel closes the window and changes nothing. No AI credit is used when a page cannot be read.
If Another page cannot be read either, the same window opens again with that page filled in. Try a different page, or pick Web search or A short description. Enter another full web address, like yourbrand.com/page means the address is incomplete, is a placeholder, or is the page that already failed. Add a few words about what they sell means the description is too short.
A page that redirects to a readable page still works. This window covers headlines, descriptions, and Suggest copy on Meta and LinkedIn ads.
Why won't AI write my headlines?
If Suggest copy will not write your headlines or descriptions, check the ad's Final URL first. When the page cannot be read, Suggest copy asks for another source, as above. It stops instead of asking for another source when:
- The Final URL is still the placeholder address. Replace it with the client's real website, then try again.
- The URL points to a local or private network address. Use the public website.
- The URL is not a complete web address. Enter one such as https://www.example.com.
How do I turn a client comment into an edit?
Open the comments on a preview. A comment that asks for a specific text change shows Apply. Click it to make the change, and Undo to reverse it. Apply needs no AI credit.
Apply using AI reads the comment with the whole ad and suggests the best edit. Click Confirm to make it, or Cancel. To work through every open comment at once, click Apply All at the top of the comments panel. AI Apply All lists a suggestion per comment. Pick the ones you want and click Apply. It handles up to 50 comments per run. You need edit access to apply changes.
Can AI combine my documents into a Strategy Brief?
Yes. In the AI Source Data panel, select two or more documents and click Distill … selected docs into one brief. Create Strategy Brief opens. Click Generate Brief, review the brief, then click Save Brief. The brief joins your documents with a Brief tag, and Suggest copy can read it. Edit it later with the pencil icon, Edit strategy brief.
What happened to AdImprover and AI Suggest?
They are now Draft with AI, built into PPC Ad Editor. Start from your landing page URL or your keywords, get headlines and descriptions to edit, and see each line counted against Google's limits. There is no separate AdImprover tool to sign in to. Draft with AI is on the Free tier, with a monthly allowance of AI credits.
How do AI credits work?
How many credits does an AI generation use? At most one. One AI generation uses one AI credit, whether it writes one field or the copy for a whole preview. Apply using AI uses one credit per comment. Asking Albert a question is free. An Albert change you approve with Do it shows its cost on the card first, and Cancel costs nothing.
Your workspace shares one pool of credits: your plan's monthly amount for each member of the workspace. Credits reset at the start of each calendar month, not on your billing date. When you have used them, a Get more AI credits window opens and shows how many you have used. On the Free tier, Suggest copy can show that more suggestions are available in Studio when it trims the results to fit Free's slots. The billing page can show remaining credits in an AI Credits meter.
