Your client and preview lists: columns, Created by, and resizing

How-to guidesLast verified:

PPC Ad Editor has two lists. The Dashboard page lists your client dashboards. Open a client to see its Previews list. Both are tables you can search, and both have a Created by column you can make wider or narrower.

What "Resize Created by column" does

It is the thin handle at the right edge of the Created by column heading. It makes that column wider or narrower, so long email addresses fit.

  • Drag the handle left or right with the mouse.
  • Or press Tab until the handle is selected, then press the Left or Right arrow key. Each press changes the width a little.

It only changes the layout on your screen. Your browser remembers the width next time. On the Dashboard page you can also resize Name and Link. On the Previews list, drag the right edge of a column heading, and click Reset columns to go back to the starting widths and order.

What the Created by column shows

The email address of the person who created that client dashboard or preview. It says Unknown when no creator is recorded.

The Dashboard page

The Dashboard page at the top of the app lists each client dashboard with these columns: Name, Created by, Link, and the actions.

  • Filter by name... searches the name, the creator's email, and the linked account.
  • The list is always in A to Z order by name. The headings do not sort.
  • Link shows the Google Ads account linked to the client, or No link.
  • New Dashboard adds a client. On the Free tier it also shows how many clients you use, such as 1 of 1 clients used.

The buttons on each row are Rename, Duplicate, Link Google Ads or Unlink Google Ads, and Delete.... Tick rows and click Delete selected to delete several. When there is more than one page, Show 10, 25, 50, or 100 per page sets the page size.

What does the Dashboard page show with only one client?

That client is first on the list. Its row is taller and has an Open button, with a count under the name such as 1 preview. A client that is archived or locked, or a view-only login, does not get this row.

On the Free tier, a line at the bottom says how many clients you use, such as 1 of 1 clients used on Free, with an Add more clients with Studio button. To build from a website, click Create dashboard from wizard at the top.

I built a client from the wizard. Why is it not on the list?

It should be there as soon as you go back to Dashboards. A client you create from the wizard or from the first-ad screen shows up in the list, and in the left menu under Dashboards with its real name, without reloading the page.

What is the paid plan limit message?

The window titled Add more client dashboards is the dashboard limit of your paid plan. It appears when every client on the plan is in use. It names how many your plan includes and offers another as a monthly extra. On Studio, running out of clients never opens a second Studio checkout. Add a client on the first-ad screen, and the limit message from the wizard, both open Add-ons on the Billing page, where Extra dashboards adds one.

Where did the Budget Pacer banner go?

It no longer sits above the list. While you are on the Dashboard page with the left menu open, it shows under Budget Pacer as Mockups approved? Track the budget behind them. with a Try Budget Pacer button.

A row marked Archived is a client you cannot edit on the Free tier right now. See Welcome back: choose the client you want to keep active.

The Previews list inside a client

Open a client to see its Previews. The columns are Name, Ad Type, Last Updated, Created by, Stage, and Approval, then the actions. Columns you add for your own attributes show after Name.

  • Filter by name... searches the name, the ad type, and the creator's email.
  • The newest updated previews come first. The headings do not sort.
  • Drag a heading between Ad Type and Approval to change the column order.
  • The icons at the top switch between Card view and List view. Your browser remembers the choice.
  • Stage shows Active, Paused, Pending, or a stage you named.
  • Approval shows In review, Approved, or Changes req. when an approval was asked for, and a dash when not. The bell sends a reminder. Approval is a Studio feature.

The buttons on each row are Settings, Duplicate, Create for other channels, and Move to Trash. In Card view, the same actions are in the ⋯ menu on each card. Tick previews to delete several at once.

Turn a Google ad into a Meta or LinkedIn preview: Create for other channels

Create for other channels copies a preview's text, images, logos, videos, and call to action into new previews in other formats. It shows on Google, YouTube, Meta single, Meta story, and LinkedIn single previews.

Click it on a preview row. In Create for Other Channels, tick the formats under Select target formats:, then click the Create button, such as Create 2 Adapted Previews. Each format becomes its own preview in the same client. Pins reset, so check each new preview. Create for other channels is a Studio feature.

You can also ask Albert, for example convert this to a Meta Feed ad. Where his Do it cards are switched on for your workspace, he makes one new version next to the original, with copy rewritten for that format and the images, logo and business name carried over. See Ask Albert to do it for you.
