Studio, the ad editor

GuidesLast verified:

Studio is the PPC Ad Editor. You use it to build a realistic preview of an ad before it runs, check the copy against each format's character limits, and send a link your client can open and comment on without an account. It does not run or publish ads. It never sends changes to your ad accounts.

What does this app do? What can I use the ad editor for?

  • Mock up new ads for a client pitch or a campaign launch, so the client sees how the ad looks in the real placement.
  • Write and check headlines, descriptions and other text against each format's character limits as you type.
  • Send a client link and collect comments on the ad. On Studio, the client can also approve it on that link.
  • Pull live campaigns from a linked Google Ads account into a preview, so you can review or rework what already runs. This only reads from Google Ads.
  • Draft ad copy with AI from a website.
  • Export responsive search, responsive display and Performance Max ads as a Google Ads Editor file, a PDF, or a PPC Ad Editor Template spreadsheet. A ChatGPT ad exports an OpenAI Ads Manager workbook.

Which ad types can I preview?

The editor has 15 formats.

  • Google Ads: responsive search, responsive display, Performance Max, and Demand Gen.
  • Microsoft Ads search, previewed in Bing's layout.
  • Meta: single image or video, carousel, and story or reel.
  • LinkedIn: single image or video, and carousel.
  • YouTube.
  • Programmatic. One Programmatic preview holds display banners, native ads, video ads and HTML5 banners.
  • ChatGPT, X, and Reddit.

Every format is on the Free plan. New channels show up in New Preview when they ship.
