Common questions
Does the extension work in Edge, Firefox or Safari?
The old install page checks for Chrome. In another browser it shows Chrome required, and in some browsers Install status unknown or Install status unavailable here. You do not need any browser extension to use AdScanner. Server search runs from the AdScanner home page, with nothing to install.
Do I have to connect to capture with the AdMinerX extension?
No. Capturing and Download .xlsx in the AdMinerX popup work without an account. Connecting only links the extension to your workspace.
Why can't I see Plans & billing in Settings?
Plans & billing shows only for workspace members whose role can view billing. Invoices & receipts shows for everyone, but some roles see the invoice list with the amounts hidden, and only owners and billing members can download invoice PDFs. Ask a workspace owner if you need to change the plan.
Can I download every ad in a job at once?
An AdScanner job downloads the ads you pick. Pick every search ad you want in Grid view, then click Download N as .xlsx. The one-click Download .xlsx for a whole job is on AdMinerX jobs only.
How do I download a spreadsheet from an AdScanner job?
Download from the job page. Open a job in Grid view, pick ads, and click Download N as .xlsx in the Selected ads panel. You get PPC Ads Editor.xlsx, the bulk-upload spreadsheet, with one row per picked search ad. Display and video ads do not go in the sheet.
Can I download the whole AdScanner job at once?
Not in one click. The Exports page mentions the whole job, but an AdScanner job downloads only the ads you pick. To get every search ad in a job, pick them all in Grid view, then click Download N as .xlsx. The one-click Download .xlsx button for a whole job is on AdMinerX jobs.
How long does AdScanner keep a pull? Do my scans get deleted after 30 days on Lite?
No, your AdScanner scans are not deleted after 30 days on Lite. Every AdScanner scan you run is a job in Job history, and it stays there on Lite and on Pro. The history page says History is kept, and the footer of the table says it again.
Does AdScanner give me the ad's words?
A server search tells AdScanner who ran each ad, its format and dates, and how long it ran. It does not return the words as text. Most cards show the ad as a picture or as a live preview you can read. When you send or download picked ads, AdScanner reads their words from each ad's image first. See in Google Transparency Center on a card opens the ad on Google's page.
How do I see which ads have lasted?
On the AdScanner job page, every group lists the longest-running ads first. Each card shows Live N d, the days between the first and last time Google showed the ad. Each tile shows the average days live for its format.
Can I see another advertiser's ads next to mine?
Yes. Pick a competitor's ads on the AdScanner job page and send them to PPC Ad Editor. They land as a new preview in the dashboard you choose, sent from your browser with your own sign-in.
