Carousel and gallery ads: which ones you can build

How-to guidesLast verified:

Can I make a carousel or gallery ad, a swipeable ad with several images? Yes, a carousel. PPC Ad Editor builds three carousel ads with swipeable cards: a Facebook and Instagram carousel, a LinkedIn carousel, and a Demand Gen carousel image ad for Google. There is no Google gallery ad format.

  1. Open a dashboard and click New Preview.
  2. Pick Facebook / Instagram, then Carousel.
  3. Add up to 10 cards. Each card has an image, a headline of up to 40 characters, a description of up to 25 and its own link. The primary text above the cards is shared.

The live preview shows the cards in the feed. Your client swipes through them on the share link.

In New Preview, pick LinkedIn, then Carousel. A LinkedIn carousel has 2 to 10 cards and starts with 2. Click Add Card to add one. The introductory text and Landing Page URL are shared by every card, and a LinkedIn carousel has no video. See Edit a LinkedIn ad.

Pick Google Ads, then Demand Gen. In the editor, choose Carousel image ad, Create multiple image cards users can swipe through. The preview shows it on YouTube, Discover and Gmail. See Placements.

No. Google gallery ads are not a format in the editor. For a multi-image Google ad, use a Demand Gen carousel image ad. The Gallery Ads page on our website opens sign-up with a Meta carousel ad picked on the first-ad screen. You can switch to another channel or format there.

Are carousels on the Free tier?

On the current Free plan, every carousel format is open. On an earlier Free plan, Carousel, LinkedIn carousel and Demand Gen show a Studio badge, and Studio includes them all.
