The What's New page on our website

GuidesLast verified:

Read something on the What's New page on your website, ppcadeditor.com/whats-new/, and want to know how it works in the app? Each item on that page is below, with what PPC Ad Editor does today and where to click. The page is a short list of releases, newest first. For the full in-app change list, see What's new in the ad editor.

Tool fields keep your cursor where you click

This is about the free mockup tools on our website, not the editor. Clicking in a tool field that starts with sample text puts the cursor where you clicked, so you can change part of a line. To replace the whole line, select it and type over it. The Budget Tracker and the Budget Pacer sample on the website show their numbers in full on a phone. See Free ad mockup tools on our website.

Generator tools fit a phone

Also about the website tools. The mockup generators and the Budget Pacer sample fit a phone screen, so the form and the mockup are not cut off at the side.

Every format is on the free plan

True for today's Free plan. Every format in the editor can be built on Free, with no shorter list: Google search, display, Performance Max and Demand Gen, YouTube, Meta single, carousel and story ads, LinkedIn single and carousel ads, Programmatic, ChatGPT, X, Reddit, and Microsoft Ads search. Pick any of them under New Preview.

Three things to know.

  • Multi-Channel, one preview built for several channels at once, is part of Studio. On Free its card in New Preview opens an upgrade.
  • An account that signed up on an earlier Free plan may see a lock on some formats with the message that the format is available with Studio and that Free includes RSA, RDA, Meta Single, and YouTube. That is the older plan's list, not today's Free plan.
  • The demo at ppcadeditor.com/demo is a sample editor with its own locks. A lock you saw in the demo does not mean the format is locked in your free account.

See Ad formats in the editor.

Click-to-Edit Extensions

On a responsive search ad, hover over a sitelink, callout, structured snippet, call extension, image, logo or business name in the preview and it says Click to edit. Click it and the matching asset window opens, such as Sitelinks on this ad group, with the one you clicked highlighted. Change it there and the preview updates. Headlines and descriptions are not opened this way. Click them in the form, or in the preview to leave a comment on that line. You need edit access to the preview. A client on a share link can click to edit only when the link is set to Editor.

Custom Client Brand Logos

Yes. Put your client's logo at the top left of the editor and of the page your client opens from a share link. In the editor, click More options, the ⋯ at the top right, or the logo at the top left in the classic layout. Then click Set as dashboard default for every preview of that client, or Set logo for this preview for this one only. Pick or upload the logo and click Done. Use dashboard default and Remove dashboard logo undo it. See Put your client's logo on the preview and the share page.

A person viewing your share link can export only when you allow it. It is not open to everyone by default.

• In Share, under Sharing options, tick Allow export. Its note says Clients can download this preview. Allow export is a Studio feature. On Free it shows a Studio badge and opens an upgrade, and a client on a Free link sees Export greyed out.
  • On a responsive search ad the client can then download the PPC Ad Editor Template (Excel), the PDF, or the Google Ads Editor CSV, from Export on the share page.
  • To let someone start building from your preview in their own workspace, tick Allow copying in the same place. Its note says Signed-in viewers can copy this preview into their own workspace. They click Make it yours on the share page. Allow copying is on Free too, but not for a group of previews or a Programmatic preview. See Copy a shared preview into your own workspace.

You and your teammates can export from the editor on every plan, Free tier included. See Export or download a preview.

YouTube Ad Previews

Yes. A YouTube preview shows four placements, as tabs above the preview: In-Stream, In-Feed, Shorts and Bumper, plus All to see them side by side. In-Feed has Shows in, to switch between Search results and Home feed. Bumper uses the first 6 seconds of your video. YouTube is on Free. Download PNG, above the preview, saves the view on screen as a picture.

Demand Gen Format

Yes. Demand Gen is a format in the editor, on Free and Studio. Pick Demand Gen in New Preview. It sits in the same dashboard as your search, display and Performance Max previews. Demand Gen previews have no Export button and do not download as a file you import.

MCP server, free without an account?

Yes. Add pcade-mcp to Claude, Cursor or Windsurf and ask for an ad. Without an account the assistant shows a mockup of the ad and gives you a save link that works for 7 days. Save the ad to a free PPC Ad Editor account from that link to edit it, share it, or collect comments. A share link straight from the assistant needs a signed-in connection or an Enterprise API key.

Previews without an account have a daily limit, and the count is not three. When it is reached the assistant says Daily preview limit reached. Save a preview to a free PPC Ad Editor account to keep working there. Setup is on ppcadeditor.com/mcp/. See Create ad previews from an AI assistant.

Real-Time Co-Editing

Yes. When two people in your workspace open the same preview, edits show up for both of you as you type, with no saving or refreshing. When a teammate clicks into a field, a label with their name, such as Sam is editing, shows above that field. It is on every plan. Free includes 2 seats, so you and one teammate. See Edit the same preview with a teammate at the same time.

@Mentions in Comments

@mentions are part of Studio. On Studio, type @ in a comment, or click the @ button, and pick a teammate from the list. They get a notification. On Free you can comment, but typing @ does not open the list of teammates.

Approval Workflow

Yes, and it is part of Studio. In Share, set the link's permission to Approval, described as Client approves or requests revisions in one click. Your client sees Approve and Request changes on the share page, and the preview records their answer. Approval is not on the Free tier. There it shows a Studio badge, and a link can be set to Viewer or Commentor. See Approval.

PDF Deck & Image Exports

Partly. There is a PDF, and there are pictures.

  • PDF. On a responsive search ad, click Export, pick Download PDF, choose Client review or Internal detail, and click Export PDF. You get one PDF file with your ads and the extras you pick. It is offered on responsive search ads only, not on other formats.
  • Pictures. On a responsive search ad, Download variations as ZIP saves one PNG per combination. On Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube, Download PNG saves the view on screen.

Both are on every plan, Free tier included. See Export or download a preview.

AI Ad Generation

Yes. Suggest copy in the editor, and Draft with AI in New Preview, write ad copy for you on Free and Studio. Free includes 50 AI credits a month for each person in the workspace, and Studio includes more. One AI generation uses one credit. Credits reset each month. When they run out, an upgrade window opens. See Draft copy with AI.
