Budget pacing calculator on our website

GuidesLast verified:

The Budget Pacer page on ppcadeditor.com, at /tools/budget-tracker/, has a free pacing calculator. Type a monthly budget and what you have spent so far, set the day of the month, and it shows your pace, where spend lands at month end, and how much to spend each day to land on budget. It needs no account and does not connect to your ad accounts.

How do I use the pacing calculator?

  1. Open ppcadeditor.com/tools/budget-tracker/ and scroll to the calculator.
  2. Type your Monthly budget and the amount Spent so far.
  3. Drag the slider to the day of the month. The label reads Today is day 9 of 30, for example.
  4. Read Spend vs ideal pace, Projected month-end, Current pace and the daily amount to spend for the rest of the month.

Your numbers stay in your browser, so they are still there when you come back.

How does the calculator work out pace?

It uses straight-line pacing over a 30-day month. Today does not count yet, so on day 9 it compares your spend with the ideal spend for 8 full days. Pace between 95% and 105% reads On pace. On day 1 there are no full days yet, so it shows No completed days yet.

Which pace words does the website calculator use?

The calculator now uses the same five words as Budget Pacer. Between 95% and 105% of ideal pace it says On pace. Between 105% and 115% it says Spending a bit fast, and between 80% and 95% it says Spending a bit slow. Above 115% it says Spending too fast, and below 80% it says Spending too slow. The stamp on the card reads ON PACE, A BIT FAST, A BIT SLOW, TOO FAST or TOO SLOW to match.

Why does Budget Pacer show a slightly different pace from the calculator?

The bands are the same, but the calculator counts every month as 30 days. Budget Pacer uses the real number of days in the month and reads your real spend from your ad accounts, so its percentage can differ by a point or two near the edge of a band.

What happens when I click Track this automatically?

A sign-up window opens, See this dashboard with your real numbers. Click Continue with Google, or type your work email and click Create account. After you sign up, PPC Ad Editor shows Setting up Budget Pacer... and takes you to Budget Pacer instead of the ad editor, where you connect Google Ads or Microsoft Ads and build trackers. The numbers you typed in the calculator do not carry over, because Budget Pacer reads your real spend from your ad accounts.

Does the calculator change my campaigns?

No. The calculator only does math on the numbers you type. Budget Pacer itself reads spend from your ad accounts and never edits campaigns, budgets or bids.
