The Facebook and Instagram ad mockup page on our website

GuidesLast verified:

Is there a free Facebook ad mockup generator? Yes. The Facebook and Instagram ad mockup generator page on our website shows what a Facebook or Instagram ad mockup looks like in PPC Ad Editor, and you build the real mockup in the editor on the Free plan. The page itself does not build or share an ad.

What can I do on the Facebook and Instagram ad mockup page?

Under the heading are three boxes, Your brand, yourbrand.com and One headline. Type your brand name, your website and one headline. When you sign up from that page, they come with you into PPC Ad Editor and start your first ad. You can also open the live demo without signing up.

Which Facebook and Instagram formats can I mock up?

In the editor you can mock up the Facebook feed on mobile, the Facebook feed on desktop, Facebook Stories, the Facebook carousel, the Instagram feed, the Instagram carousel and Instagram Reels. Each one has its own layout, so pick the one that matches where the ad will run. Messenger, Audience Network, Marketplace and right column placements are not included. See Edit a Meta ad.

Where does my Facebook ad copy get cut off in the mockup?

In the Facebook feed mockup, primary text stops after 3 lines with See more, the headline is cut at 48 characters with an ellipsis, and the description is cut at 30 characters. That shows you where your copy breaks before your client sees it.

Is the Facebook mockup free?

Yes. The Free plan for new accounts includes every format, Facebook and Instagram included, with 3 previews, 1 shared preview at a time and 3 guest comments per preview. Accounts on an earlier Free plan do not get every format. Studio Pro is $149 a month and removes those caps.

Can my client comment on a Facebook ad mockup without an account?

Yes. Send the preview's share link. Your client opens it without an account and clicks the part of the Facebook feed ad they want to talk about, the profile image, the business name, the primary text, the image, the URL, the headline, the description or the call to action button. Their comment stays on that part. See Comments.

Can my client approve the Facebook ad or edit the copy?

Only on Studio. On Studio, set the share link to Approval and your client can click Approve or Request changes, or set it to Editor and they can edit the copy in the shared preview. On the Free plan both stay locked, and your client can still open the link and comment. See Approve a preview.

What size is an Instagram ad mockup?

Pick the layout first, Instagram feed, Instagram carousel or Instagram Reels, and the mockup uses that layout. The page does not list pixel sizes or aspect ratios. Check Meta's current ad specs before you upload final creative to Ads Manager.

Where did the old Facebook mockup blog posts go?

Two older posts about making Facebook ad mockups now open this page instead. Old links and bookmarks to them still work and land here.

What does this page not do?

It does not publish ads to Facebook or Instagram, and it does not connect to your Meta ad account. To pull existing ads from a Meta ad account into a preview, see Import from Meta Ads.
