Ways to use change tracking
These are the jobs Ad Recap is built for, with the Ad Recap screens to use for each.
Catch a budget cut or a paused campaign
The job is to hear about a big unplanned change before it costs you. In Ad Recap Settings, choose Daily under Delivery and pick your Timezone, so the recap email arrives every morning at 8:00 AM your time. On the Ad Recap Dashboard, a highlighted warning row flags a budget cut of 40% or more, a campaign that was paused or removed, or a connection that needs a reconnect. Click See change to open it. To see only budget and status changes on the Dashboard, turn on Only budget and status changes in Settings.
You get the change, the old and new value, and who made it, so you can put it right in Google Ads or Microsoft Ads.
Find out who changed a campaign
The job is to answer a client or manager who asks who changed something. On the Ad Recap Dashboard, pick Last 30 days, then type the campaign name into the Search changes box. Click the change to see its Previous and New values, and hover the initials at the end of the row to see who made it. To see everything one person changed, pick them in the Anyone menu.
You get the person, the time, the old and new value and, when the platform reports it, the tool they used. On the free plan, Ad Recap keeps the last 7 days of history, so Last 30 days needs the $19 plan or a trial.
Send clients a weekly change report
The job is to keep a client informed without writing a report by hand. In Ad Recap Settings, choose Weekly, then add the client's email under Recipients. Each Monday at 8:00 AM, in the timezone set in Settings, they get the past 7 days of changes, with an AI Summary when one can be written. Scheduled emails go to every workspace owner and admin, plus anyone on the Recipients list, and cover every connected account, so add a client only if they may see all of them. For a one-off report on one account, pick it in the account menu on the Dashboard and click Email recap. It goes to you, so you can forward it.
Send a monthly change report
The job is a month-end summary for a client or a manager. In Ad Recap Settings, choose Monthly under Delivery. On the 1st of each month at 8:00 AM your time, the recap covers the month before. Add people under Recipients the same way as for a weekly report.
Watch every client under a manager account
The job is to follow many client accounts from one place. On the Ad Recap Accounts screen, click Connect account, click Select all under your Google Ads manager account (MCC), and add the accounts. On the Dashboard, use the account menu to switch between clients, or turn on Group changes by account in Settings. The free plan watches 1 ad account. On the $19 plan, each linked account after the first is $19 a month.
You get one list of changes across all your clients, and one recap email.
