What Ad Recap does
What does Ad Recap do? Ad Recap tells you when someone changes your Google Ads or Microsoft Ads accounts, what they changed, who made the change, and when. It writes the changes up in plain words on a Dashboard and emails you a recap on your schedule. It opens at /adrecap in PPC Ad Editor, with three screens in its left menu: Dashboard, Accounts and Settings. Ad Recap is not in beta, and the left menu does not mark it as Beta.
Who Ad Recap is for
Ad Recap is for anyone who needs to know what changed in an ad account, such as an agency watching client accounts, a manager checking a team's edits, or a freelancer who wants proof of what was done and when.
What you see in Ad Recap
The Ad Recap Dashboard lists every change in the accounts you watch, newest first. Each row shows the time, the type of change, what changed, the old and new value, the account, and who made the change. A Written recap at the top sums up the period in plain words. A highlighted row above it flags changes that need a look, such as a budget cut of 40% or more, or a campaign that was paused.
Ad Recap also emails you a recap at 8:00 AM in your timezone. On the Ad Recap Settings screen you choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly, pick your timezone, and add the people who should get it.
What Ad Recap does not do
Ad Recap only reads change history. It never edits campaigns, pauses anything, changes budgets or spends money.
Ad Recap cannot undo a change. It shows you the old value, so you can put it back yourself in Google Ads or Microsoft Ads.
Ad Recap works with Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, and with Meta Ads where it is enabled for your workspace. Where it is not, the Meta Ads tile on the Accounts screen says Not enabled for this account.
How much Ad Recap costs
Ad Recap is $19 a month for one linked account. That includes the dashboard, change emails and unlimited history. Each extra linked account is $19 a month. There is no Ad Recap Pro tier.
Without a paid plan or trial, Ad Recap stays usable on the free plan: 1 ad account and the last 7 days of history. See Is Ad Recap free? The Ad Recap free plan.
How long Ad Recap keeps your change history
On a paid Ad Recap plan, and during an Ad Recap trial, Ad Recap keeps unlimited history. Every change it records is kept, and nothing is deleted while you're subscribed. If your plan ends, your full history is kept for 30 days. After that, and on the free plan, only the last 7 days are kept. Older changes are deleted each night and can't be restored, so reactivate within the 30 days to keep all of it. If Ad Recap can't check your plan, it deletes nothing that night.
To see where your workspace stands, open Ad Recap Settings and scroll to How long we keep your history. It says Unlimited history on a paid plan, Full history kept until a date after your plan ends, or Free plan: last 7 days of history on the free plan. During the 30 days, and on a free account, the Dashboard shows the same notice with a Reactivate or Upgrade button.
When I add an account, how far back does Ad Recap pull changes?
When you add an account to Ad Recap, it pulls that account's changes from the last 28 days right away, usually in under a minute. Google Ads only shares the last 30 days of change history, and Ad Recap stays two days inside that limit so Google does not turn the request away. Changes from before those 28 days cannot be pulled in, on any plan.
From then on, Ad Recap keeps its own copy. It checks each Connected account for new changes every 6 hours, and on a paid plan it keeps every change it records, even after the platform has dropped it. The Dashboard itself shows the most recent 28 days, as below.
How far back the Dashboard goes
The longest range on the Ad Recap Dashboard is Last 30 days, and it shows the most recent 28 days. Pick Last 7 days, Last 14 days or Last 30 days at the top of the Dashboard. On the free plan, Last 14 days and Last 30 days show a lock and open the upgrade page.
