Set up your change emails

How-to guidesLast verified:

The Ad Recap Settings screen at /adrecap/settings controls when the recap email arrives and who gets it. Every change saves on its own, and the top of the screen shows Saving… and then All changes saved.

Scheduled recap emails start as soon as your workspace watches its first account. Until you change them, they go out Weekly at 8:00 AM UTC.

Pick daily, weekly or monthly emails

On the Ad Recap Settings screen, under Delivery, click one option.

  • Daily arrives every morning and covers the last day.
  • Weekly arrives on Mondays and covers the past 7 days. This is the default.
  • Monthly arrives on the 1st and covers the past month.

When does the daily, weekly or monthly email arrive?

Every recap email arrives at 8:00 AM in the timezone you pick in the Timezone menu on the Ad Recap Settings screen. The timezone starts as UTC.

  • The daily recap email arrives every morning at 8:00 AM.
  • The weekly recap email arrives on Monday at 8:00 AM.
  • The monthly recap email arrives on the 1st of each month at 8:00 AM and covers the month before.

The day is the date in your chosen timezone, so a monthly email set to Pacific Time arrives on the 1st at 8:00 AM Pacific.

Change the email time zone

To change the email time zone, open the Ad Recap Settings screen and pick your timezone in the Timezone menu. It saves on its own, and the next email arrives at 8:00 AM in that time zone. The Timezone menu offers UTC, Eastern Time (ET), Central Time (CT), Mountain Time (MT), Pacific Time (PT), London (GMT/BST), Central European Time (CET), Japan Standard Time (JST), Singapore Time (SGT) and Australian Eastern Time (AET).

The Send on and At boxes are locked, so you cannot pick another day or time. The Preview on the right shows when the next email goes out, such as Next send: Mon, Oct 12 · 8:00 AM ET.

Add or remove recipients

  1. On the Ad Recap Settings screen, find Recipients.
  2. Type an email address and click Add, or press Enter.
  3. To take someone off, click the small Remove button at the end of their address.

Your own address shows first, marked you. The recap email goes to the workspace's owners and admins and to every address on this list. It covers every Connected account in the workspace, so add a client only if they may see all of those accounts.

I'm a member and don't get the email

If you are a member of the workspace but not an owner or admin, your address still shows as you, but the scheduled email does not go to it, and Settings will not let you add your own address (it says Email already added). Ask an owner or admin to add your address under Recipients. The Email recap button on the Dashboard always sends to you.

If an address is not a real email address, Settings says Invalid email address, or Failed to save settings. Remove it and add it again correctly.

What is in the recap email?

What is in the Ad Recap email? The subject starts with AdRecap and names the first account, the number of changes and the dates. Inside, the email lists the accounts under Monitored Accounts, adds an AI Summary when one can be written, and shows up to 10 recent changes with who made each one. A View full dashboard button opens Ad Recap, and Manage email preferences opens Settings.

When nothing changed, the email still goes out and says no changes were detected. It covers only accounts that show Connected on the Accounts screen. With no Connected account, no email is sent.

Dashboard switches on the Settings screen

The three switches under What the recap includes on the Ad Recap Settings screen change the Dashboard only, in the browser you use.

  • Written summary at the top shows or hides the Written recap card. It is on to start.
  • Group changes by account lists changes by account instead of by day.
  • Only budget and status changes hides keyword, bid and creative edits.

These switches do not change the recap email. The Preview on the right of Settings follows the switches, but the email that goes out always includes every type of change and an AI Summary when one can be written.

How long we keep your history

At the bottom of the Ad Recap Settings screen, How long we keep your history shows where your workspace stands and the rules: paid plans keep unlimited history, the free plan includes 1 ad account and the last 7 days, a full history is kept for 30 days when a paid plan or trial ends, and after that older changes are deleted each night.

  • Unlimited history means your plan keeps every change Ad Recap has recorded. Nothing is deleted while you're subscribed.
  • Full history kept until a date means your Ad Recap plan has ended. Everything is kept until that date, then only the last 7 days. Click Reactivate before then to keep all of it.
  • Free plan: last 7 days of history means you are on the free plan, with 1 ad account. Older changes are deleted each night. Click Upgrade for longer history to keep unlimited history from then on.

If it says We couldn't check your plan just now, nothing is deleted until Ad Recap can check.

Get an email of the changes right now

On the Ad Recap Dashboard, click Email recap. Ad Recap sends the changes in the date range and account you picked to your own email address.
