See who changed what on the dashboard

How-to guidesLast verified:

The Ad Recap Dashboard at /adrecap lists every change in the accounts you watch, newest first.

Pick the date range

At the top of the Ad Recap Dashboard, choose Last 7 days, Last 14 days or Last 30 days. The line under the Dashboard title shows the dates covered, how many accounts you watch, and when they last synced. Last 30 days covers the most recent 28 days, which is as far back as the Dashboard goes. Click Sync now to fetch new changes for that range.

On the free plan, only Last 7 days is open. Last 14 days and Last 30 days show a lock, and clicking one opens the upgrade page. Hover it to see Upgrade for longer history.

Filter the list of changes

Use the bar above the list on the Ad Recap Dashboard.

  • Search changes… finds words in the change, campaign, account or person.
  • All accounts narrows the list to one account.
  • All types narrows it to Budget, Keyword, Bid, Ad or Status changes.
  • Anyone narrows it to one person's changes.

Clear filters resets them and also sets the date range back to Last 7 days. The count on the right, such as Showing 12 of 40 changes, shows how many match. Your browser address keeps the account, type, person and date range, so you can bookmark a filtered view.

What does Ad Recap track, and which changes does it capture?

Ad Recap tracks the change history your ad platform keeps for each account you watch, so it picks up the changes the platform records, made in the platform, in an editor, through a tool or by the platform itself. For Google Ads that covers changes to campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, budgets, bids and bid strategies, targeting and exclusions, assets and asset groups, and extensions. For Microsoft Ads, Ad Recap reads the change history of search campaigns.

Each change gets a type tag, such as Budget, Keyword, Bid, Ad, Creative, Status, Audience, Exclusion or Other. The All types menu narrows the list to Budget, Keyword, Bid, Ad or Status. Ad Recap reads history only. It does not record performance changes such as spend or clicks.

Read one change

Each row on the Ad Recap Dashboard shows the time, a type tag, a plain sentence about the change, and the platform, campaign and ad group. On a wide window the row also shows the old value crossed out, the new value and the percent change, plus the account name. Click a row to open its details, with the Previous and New values and, where they apply, All Changed Fields, Keywords, URLs, Headlines and Descriptions.

Changes are grouped by day, newest day first. If you turned on Group changes by account in Settings, they are grouped by account instead. Load older changes at the bottom adds earlier ones from the same date range.

See who made a change

The round badge at the end of each row on the Ad Recap Dashboard shows the initials of the person who made the change. Hover it to see their name or email and, when the platform reports it, the tool they used, such as Google Ads Editor or Recommendations Auto-apply. When Google Ads or Microsoft Ads does not report a person, Ad Recap lists the change as System.

The written summary and the warning row

The Written recap card at the top of the Ad Recap Dashboard sums up the period, with the total changes, accounts and people and a bar showing the mix of change types. Text written by AI carries an AI label, and Regenerate writes it again. If AI is not available, the card shows counts instead.

When something needs a look, a highlighted warning row appears above the card. It flags a budget cut of 40% or more, a campaign that was paused or removed, or an account whose connection needs a reconnect. Click See change to jump to the change, or, for a connection, to the Accounts screen. Click Dismiss to hide the row.

Email the current view

Click Email recap at the top of the Ad Recap Dashboard to send the changes in the current date range to your own email address. If you picked one account in the account menu, the email covers only that account. The button is greyed out when the date range has no changes.
