What is AdMinerX good for? Ways to use AdMinerX

PlaybooksLast verified:

AdMinerX is good for seeing which ads show on a Google search. It keeps the ads that show on a Google search and turns them into a capture you can read, download and edit. You capture by uploading a results page you saved in your own browser, or by asking Albert to run the search for you. These are the jobs it does well.

Turn a competitor search into an editable preview for a pitch

The job is to show a prospect which ads appear for their main search term, then write your better version.

  1. Search the prospect's main term in your own browser and save the page as HTML.
  2. On the AdMinerX page, click Upload saved page (.html) and pick the file.
  3. On the AdMinerX capture page, click Send to Studio and pick the prospect's project.

You get a preview in the editor with one ad group per ad on that page, ready to edit next to your own copy.

Compare several search terms in one AdMinerX preview

The job is to compare what shows for a set of related terms before you plan a campaign.

  1. Capture each term with its own upload on the AdMinerX page.
  2. In AdMinerX job history, filter the list down to those captures.
  3. Click Send all N to Studio.

You get one preview with one campaign per search term, oldest search first. One send carries up to 25 captures.

The job is to find the phrases people search around a term before you build a campaign.

  1. Upload a saved page for the term.
  2. Read the related searches table on the AdMinerX capture page, or click Download .xlsx and open the Keywords sheet.

You get the related searches, People also ask and People also search for phrases from that page, each marked Broad.

The job is to see which products, prices and sellers appear for a shopping term.

  1. Upload a saved page for the product search.
  2. Read the shopping offers table on the AdMinerX capture page, or the Products sheet of the spreadsheet.

You get each offer's title, price and advertiser. The capture page also shows each offer's link, and the spreadsheet's Products sheet adds the image link.

Keep a dated record of the ads for a client file

The job is to file what showed for a client's terms on a given day.

  1. Capture each term on the AdMinerX page.
  2. Click Download .xlsx on each AdMinerX capture page.

You get a PPC Ads Editor.xlsx file for each capture that you can file with the client's records. The captures also stay in AdMinerX job history on Lite and on Pro, each with the date and time it was made.

See the ads in another city without travelling (Pro)

The job is to check which ads show for a term in a market you are not in, such as a client's home city.

  1. Where Albert's Do it cards are switched on for your workspace, ask Albert, for example "search Google for emergency plumber in Chicago in AdMinerX".
  2. Read his card. It names the phrase, where the search runs from and how many ads it keeps. Click Do it.
  3. Open the new capture from AdMinerX job history.

On Pro you can name a city, a country and a language, and the search keeps up to 50 ads. Albert knows 12 large US cities by name. For anywhere else, write City,Region,Country, such as Austin,Texas,United States. On Lite, Albert's searches always run from New York, NY, in US English, keep up to 5 ads, and you get 3 in any 24 hours. Every search that runs counts, even one that finds no ads.

What AdMinerX is not for

AdMinerX reads Google results pages only. It does not read Bing or other search engines, it does not watch a term on a schedule, and it never publishes ads to Google Ads. For the ads a competitor is running, from Google's Ads Transparency Center, use AdScanner.
