Fix AdMinerX upload and capture problems

TroubleshootingLast verified:

If an AdMinerX upload keeps failing or something else looks wrong, find the problem or message you see below and follow its fix.

AdMinerX won't run a keyword search for me

The AdMinerX page has no search box. Ask Albert instead, for example "search Google for crm software in AdMinerX", where Albert's Do it cards are switched on for your workspace. Click Do it on his card to run it. Or search on Google in your own browser, save the results page (Ctrl+S, HTML only) and upload the file with Upload saved page (.html) on the AdMinerX page.

Albert says why on his card. Find his words below.

  • Daily search limit reached. Upgrade to Pro for more searches. You used your 3 Lite searches in the last 24 hours. Try again when the oldest is a day old, or upload a saved page, which has no daily limit.
  • Monthly vendor spend ceiling reached for this workspace. You used the monthly search allowance, on Lite or Pro. Searches stop counting after 30 days, so it opens up again over time. Uploads still work.
  • Choosing a city, country or language is part of the Pro plan. I can run the search from the standard location instead. Ask again without the place, or upgrade to Pro.
  • I could not place that location. Name a city such as Chicago, or write City,State,Country (for example Austin,Texas,United States). Ask again with one of the 12 US cities Albert knows by name, or with the place written that way.
  • Your subscription payment is past due, so new scans and searches are paused. Someone who manages billing for the workspace opens the Billing page in PPC Ad Editor, clicks Fix payment, then Update payment method. Your history stays, and uploads still work.
  • If Albert says he could not check your plan, nothing was started. Ask again in a moment.
  • AdMinerX searches are not available right now. Upload a saved page instead, or try again later.
  • AdScanner and AdMinerX did not answer in time. Please check there before trying again. Open AdMinerX job history first. The search may have run, and asking again would use another search.

A search Albert ran found no ads

The AdMinerX capture page says No paid ads on this results page, and adds that a server search does not always receive the ads your own browser sees. Search the phrase on Google yourself. If you see ads there, save that page and upload it with the upload card shown on the same capture page. The search phrase is already filled in. The empty search still counts as one of your daily searches.

Stop a search that is still running

Open it from AdMinerX job history while it reads running, and click Cancel. Job history then lists it as cancelled, and nothing more is kept from it. On the capture page it reads No paid ads on this results page. It still counts toward your daily searches. Cancel only stops a search. It does nothing to an uploaded page.

AdMinerX won't take my Google page

When AdMinerX will not take the page you upload, the message says why. The sections below cover each one: the file is not .html, it is not a Google results page, it is Google's consent or verification page, it does not name its search, or it is too large. In every case, run the search in Google, wait for the results, save the page with Ctrl+S as HTML only, and upload that file.

Upload the saved results page as an .html file

AdMinerX shows this when the file does not end in .html or .htm. If your browser saved a single-file archive such as .mhtml, or you picked a screenshot or a PDF, save the results page again as HTML only and upload that file.

That did not look like a Google results page

The file you gave AdMinerX is not a Google results page. It may be a Bing page, another site, or a partial copy. Save the Google results page itself (Ctrl+S, HTML only) and upload that file.

Google declined that search with a verification page

Google showed a verification page instead of results, so AdMinerX captured nothing. Wait a few minutes, search again, then save the new results page and upload it. Do not try to get around the check.

You saved Google's consent screen instead of the results. Accept or dismiss it in your Google tab. Then save the results page with Ctrl+S, HTML only, and upload that file to AdMinerX.

AdMinerX says This page does not say which search it is for when the saved file lost its search term. On the AdMinerX page, type the term in the Keyword field, marked only if the saved page does not name its search, beside the upload button. Then upload the same file again.

That file is too large to be a results page

AdMinerX refuses a file far bigger than a saved results page. Save the results page itself and try again.

The AdMinerX capture stopped at 5 ads

On Lite, the AdMinerX capture page says This job stopped at its 5-ad Lite budget. Upgrading to Pro raises it; the ads already captured are kept. Lite keeps 5 ads per job, and the rest show as skipped.

Send to Studio is greyed out on an AdMinerX capture

The capture has no ad copy, for example when the AdMinerX capture page says No paid ads on this results page. Upload a newer copy of the page when the search shows ads.

AdMinerX says You are signed out

Sign in to PPC Ad Editor on the same site, studio.ppcadeditor.com, with the Sign in button on the AdMinerX page, then come back. AdMinerX uses your PPC Ad Editor sign-in.

Capture failed, or Capture saved but not closed

If AdMinerX shows Capture failed, or Capture failed while saving, with a code in brackets, upload the same file again. If it shows Capture saved but not closed, the ads were saved and the capture is already in your history, so open it from job history. If that capture keeps reading running and Download .xlsx stays greyed out, Cancel does not help, because it only stops searches Albert runs. Upload the same file again to get a new, finished capture.

Each AdMinerX capture belongs to the person who made it. A capture link opens only for that person's own sign-in, so a link a teammate sends you shows That job does not exist in this workspace, even inside the same workspace. The same happens for a link that was cut short when it was copied. To share a capture, the person who made it clicks Send to Studio and puts it in a PPC Ad Editor project you can both open, or downloads it with Download .xlsx and shares the file.

Send to Studio says No capture selected

The Send to Studio page opened without a capture, for example from a bookmark. Open AdMinerX job history and click Send to Studio on the capture's row, or open the capture and click Send to Studio there.

Send to Studio says one send carries at most 25

One send carries up to 25 captures. If the page says That is N captures, and one send carries at most 25, open AdMinerX job history, narrow the list with the filters, and send the captures in smaller sets.

Send to Studio is greyed out on the Send to Studio page

The button stays greyed out until you pick a project under Select a project…, and while What will be sent still reads Building the payload…. It also stays greyed out when the capture has no ads to send, for example a capture that found no paid ads. What will be sent then counts 0 ads.

Send to Studio says No projects found for this workspace

The Send to Studio page needs a project to put the new preview in. Type a name in Or name a new project… and click Create project, or create a project in PPC Ad Editor and click Refresh. Then pick it under Select a project… and click Send to Studio. The button stays greyed out until a project is picked.

Send to Studio says No workspace selected

Open the PPC Ad Editor workspace you want the AdMinerX capture to land in, then come back to the Send to Studio page.

The send shows an error once you click it

  • Your PPC Ad Editor session expired. Reload and try again. Reload the page, sign in if asked, and send again.
  • Could not reach PPC Ad Editor, ending in Check your connection and try again. Check your internet connection, then send again.
  • PPC Ad Editor refused the import, followed by the reason. Fix what the reason names, for example your plan's limit, then send again.
  • PPC Ad Editor returned HTTP and a number. Wait a moment and send again. If it repeats, contact PPC Ad Editor support.
  • N ads did not fit your plan's limit and were left out. Only the ads that fit were sent.
  • You are not a member of this workspace in PPC Ad Editor. Switch to a workspace you belong to, or ask its owner to invite you.
  • PPC Ad Editor is unavailable right now. Try again in a moment. Wait a moment and send again.
  • This workspace has reached its dashboard limit, or PPC Ad Editor access is required. Pick an existing project instead of creating one, or upgrade the workspace in PPC Ad Editor.
  • This workspace is read-only, or only the owner can create a dashboard. Pick an existing project, or ask the owner to create one.
  • Someone else used the last dashboard slot. Try again. Pick an existing project, or try again.
  • Could not build the import payload, with a code. Reload the page and try again. If it repeats, contact PPC Ad Editor support.

AdMinerX still says Lite after paying for Pro

  • Open AdMinerX from the PPC Ad Editor workspace that bought Pro. Pro turns on for that workspace only.
  • Pro can take up to 10 minutes to show after checkout. Reload the page.
  • AdMinerX Pro or Intel Pro turns on Pro in AdMinerX. AdScanner Pro alone does not.
  • While the subscription is past due, AdMinerX shows Lite, and Albert cannot start searches until the payment is fixed.
  • If the chip on the AdMinerX page still reads Lite · 5 ads per job, contact PPC Ad Editor support.

Checkout says Only owners and billing members can buy

Only a workspace owner or billing member can buy AdMinerX Pro. Ask one of them to click Upgrade to Pro on AdMinerX plans.

The Chrome extension says its captures are not saved to your account

The extension shows Captures from this extension are not saved to your AdMinerX account. Its captures stay in your browser and never reach AdMinerX job history, though you can still download them from the extension. To keep a search in your account, save the Google results page and upload it with Upload saved page (.html) on the AdMinerX page.
