ChatGPT ads examples you can copy and edit

These are 12 ChatGPT ad examples written by PPC Ad Editor. Every one is a labeled mockup for a fictional brand. None of them is a real advertiser's ad, and none has run in ChatGPT. Each card shows the user prompt it was written for, the exact title and description, character counts compared with OpenAI's bulk-upload guidance, and a short note on why it fits the prompt. The cards are grouped twice, by industry and by copy style. You can then open our free mockup tool and type in any example, or your own copy, to see it as a sponsored card. To see ads that actually ran, use the captured-ad libraries linked below.

What a ChatGPT ad looks like

According to OpenAI's help article Ads in ChatGPT: The Basics, ads appear below ChatGPT responses. They are separate from the answer itself.

The same article lists six parts in each ad:

  1. Advertiser name: the brand shown on the ad.
  2. Favicon: the advertiser's logo.
  3. Title: the headline.
  4. Copy: the description under the headline.
  5. Landing page: where the ad links.
  6. Image asset: the creative.

Here is how the first example maps to those parts. The advertiser name is Northline QA, the title is "Catch broken ads early," the copy is "Preview every headline before clients see it." and the landing page is shown as northlineqa.example. The cards on this page show placeholder favicons and images. Replace them when you build the card in the tool.

OpenAI's bulk-upload guidance (Launch campaigns and the Bulk Upload Campaign Schema Checklist) recommends titles of 16–24 characters, with a 50-character maximum, and copy of 32–48 characters, with a 100-character maximum. All 12 titles and descriptions below fall inside the recommended ranges. The counts on each card are supporting notes. They do not replace OpenAI's specs.

Examples by copy style

These are the same 12 mockups, grouped by how the copy is written. No new cards are added here. All are fictional mockups, not real advertisers' ads.

Benefit-led

Leads with the result the user wants.

  • northline-qa: names the risk of client-visible mistakes, then the fix.
  • ridgeway-plumbing: answers "today?" and "what will it cost?" in one line.
  • fairledger: turns "current books" into a concrete output for the accountant.
  • fieldnote-travel: promises a plan that is not overpacked.

Question-answering

Repeats or reflects the user's question, then answers it.

  • askwell-docs: a docs-accuracy question, answered with "cites the page."
  • oak-ember-hvac: the user's own question as the title, plus a next step.
  • sunwell-bottles: "Will this bottle leak?" answered in the copy.

Offer or price

Puts terms the user can compare in the copy.

  • harbor-thread: return window stated alongside the product benefit.
  • nestwell-credit: fee and intro-rate terms (fictional) matched to the user's two conditions.

Comparison

Sets the product against the option the user is weighing.

  • knit-theory: soft and shape-keeping, compared with layers that pill or shrink.
  • northcurrent: compared with flights and long layovers.
  • paperlane: one board, compared with bouncing between docs.

Single-image and multi-image ads

OpenAI's article on creating ads describes two image formats:

  • Single-image ad: upload one image.
  • Multi-image ad: upload 4–6 square images, each 1:1. Multi-image has been in open beta since Monday, October 26, 2026.

Both formats follow the same headline and description requirements. OpenAI's bulk-upload guidance asks for PNG or JPG images that are square and no larger than 1200 x 1200.

The examples on this page are single-image cards because that is what our mockup tool previews. We have not included a multi-image mockup. Check OpenAI's article for the current state of the beta.

Where to see real ChatGPT ads

This page only has mockups. To see ads that advertisers actually ran, use a captured-ad library:

Build your own example

Use the free ChatGPT ads mockup tool to turn any example on this page, or your own copy, into a preview.

  1. Open the tool. You don't need an account.
  2. The tool opens with its default sample. It does not load a card from this page, so type in the brand, title, copy, and landing page you want.
  3. Switch between Ad only, Mobile, and Desktop to see the sponsored card alone or inside a ChatGPT screen.
  4. Compare your title and copy lengths with OpenAI's bulk-upload guidance shown on each card above.

The website tool doesn't write copy for you, and it doesn't create share links.

The PPC Ad Editor app does more. You can export a ChatGPT ad as an OpenAI Ads Manager workbook, and clients can leave comments through a share link without logging in. The free plan includes every ad format. Approvals are available on the paid Studio plan.

FAQ

Are these real ads?

No. All 12 examples are mockups written by PPC Ad Editor for fictional brands. They have not run in ChatGPT, and they have no performance data. To see ads that actually ran, use a captured-ad library such as Sprites or ChatGPT Ad Library.

Who sees ChatGPT ads?

According to OpenAI's Ads in ChatGPT: The Basics, ads appear below ChatGPT responses. OpenAI does not show ads to users on Plus, Pro, or any Business plan, or to accounts identified as under 18. Check that article for current details.

How long should titles and descriptions be?

OpenAI's bulk-upload guidance (Launch campaigns) recommends titles of 16–24 characters, with a 50-character maximum, and copy of 32–48 characters, with a 100-character maximum. These limits are stated for bulk upload. Every example on this page stays within the recommended ranges, and each card lists its counts.
