Programmatic is its own channel in New Preview, for display banners, native ads, and video ads. You upload or build the ads, see them in publisher placements, and share them for review.

## Which plan includes programmatic

On the current Free plan and on Studio, Programmatic is open to create. Some older Free accounts are on an earlier Free plan, where Programmatic shows a Studio tag and opens the upgrade window. Approval links for your client are a Studio feature.

## Start a programmatic preview

In New Preview, under Where do you want to advertise?, pick Programmatic, then click Continue with Programmatic. The preview is named Programmatic followed by Draft until you rename it. Start from scratch is the only way in. AI drafting and imports are not available for programmatic, and programmatic is not part of a multi-channel preview.

## Add ads

Click Create ad, then pick Display banner, Native, Video, or HTML5 banner.

- Display banner. Upload JPG, PNG, or GIF files, up to 50 at a time and 10 MB each. Each file becomes its own banner ad, named after the file.
- Native. Fill in the advertiser, headline, description, call to action, image, and final URL. The logo is optional. The advertiser, headline, image, and a final URL that starts with http or https are required. The headline holds 90 characters, the description 200, and the call to action 30.
- Video. Upload MP4 or WebM files, up to 100 MB each. Each file becomes its own video ad. You can add a title, a description, the advertiser, and a final URL. A video ad has no call to action.

- HTML5 banner. Upload a ZIP of your HTML5 ad, up to 10 MB. Each ZIP becomes its own HTML5 ad. The ZIP needs an HTML file such as index.html, at most 200 files, and no more than 20 MB once unpacked. The entry HTML should declare the banner's width and height, for example with an ad.size meta tag, and a click variable such as clickTag. You can add a headline, a description, the advertiser, and a final URL. An HTML5 ad has no call to action (CTA) field, because its button is part of the ZIP. A missing CTA on an HTML5 banner is added in the ZIP itself.

A display banner cannot be an SVG file.

## How big can an HTML5 ZIP be?

An HTML5 ZIP in Programmatic can be up to 10 MB, with at most 200 files and no more than 20 MB once unpacked.

## Edit the ad text

Type into a field on the ad card. The text saves when you click or tab out of the field. On an HTML5 banner, pressing Enter in a field also saves it. The headline, description and advertiser stay on the ad after you reload. A display banner is the image only, so it has no ad text.

## Where the ads show

A display banner previews in the placements that fit its size. Sizes are in pixels, width by height.

- 300x250: Desktop Article, In Content, Mobile, and Feed.
- 336x280: Desktop Article, In Content, and Feed.
- 728x90, 970x90, and 970x250: In Content.
- 160x600 and 300x600: Desktop Article.
- 320x50 and 320x100: Mobile.

Another size uses the placements its shape fits. A size that fits none shows on a generic page, scaled down. Native ads preview in News Feed, Recommendation, Mobile Feed, and Compact. Video ads preview In Stream, in an Article, and in a Mobile Feed. Appearance still varies by publisher and placement.

## Track the review

Each ad shows its status: Draft, Ready for Review, Changes Requested, Approved, or Review Required. Saving a change to an approved ad, or replacing its file, sets it to Review Required. Filter the ads by type, including HTML5, and by Approved, Changes requested, or Not reviewed. Comments has a count in the header.

## Share for review

Click Share. On a Commentor link your client can comment on each ad. On an Approval link your client can also click Approve, or Request changes with a reason, and can approve several selected ads at once. A Viewer link is look only, and an Editor link does not let a client edit programmatic ads. Your client adds their name before they comment or review. The person who created the preview gets an email when a client approves an ad or requests changes. Approval links are a Studio feature.

On a phone, your client sees each native ad in full, with the headline, description, call to action, advertiser, image and logo, across the width of the screen. Display, video and HTML5 ads are scaled to fit. The Live at this link bar and the note that changes update before you save are only on your own editing screen, not on your client's.

## Not available yet

Importing ads from a DSP is not connected yet: StackAdapt, Adform, The Trade Desk, DV360, and Amazon DSP. Programmatic ads do not export, and AI drafting is off for them. Each native ad has one headline and one description.
