# Notifications: the bell in the top bar

The bell at the top right of PPC Ad Editor opens Notifications. It shows what is new in the product and your recent alerts, such as a new comment on the preview you have open or an export that is ready to download.

## What does the Notifications button do?

Click the bell. In the editor its tooltip reads Notifications and what's new. A dot or a number on the bell means there is something you have not seen. The panel shows:

- Your notifications, newest first, each with a time such as 5m ago.
- What's new, the latest product updates, in the editor's version of the panel.

When there is nothing to show, it says No notifications and You're all caught up!

## What kinds of notifications show up?

- New Comment: someone else commented on the preview you have open. Click View to open it.
- Preview Ready: a preview finished generating. Generation Failed means it did not.
- Export Ready: a download is ready. Click Download. The line shows Expires in, with the hours left, and then Link expired.
- Import Complete: an import from an ad platform finished. Click View Preview.
- Import Failed: an import from an ad platform did not finish. The line says what went wrong.
- Google Ads disconnected: a linked Google Ads account lost its connection. The line names the account and its Google login and says it is disconnected from Google Ads. Click Reconnect to sign in to Google again.

## Google Ads disconnected: where did the reconnect bar go?

As of 27 October 2026, a Google Ads account that needs to be reconnected shows up in the bell, not as a bar across the top of the dashboard. Open the bell and find Google Ads disconnected. Click Reconnect on it. You land on your dashboard and Google's sign-in opens. Sign in with the same Google login as before, and the notice goes away once the account is connected again.

## Google Ads keeps saying disconnected

The Google login behind a linked Google Ads account stopped working, so Studio can no longer read that account. The bell keeps the Google Ads disconnected notice until you reconnect. Click Reconnect on it and sign in with the same Google login. If you sign in with a different Google account, the window says which one you used and which one to use. In Ad Recap or Budget Pacer, reconnect from that product's own Accounts screen.

If Google Ads is connected but you have not imported any campaigns yet, a thin line at the top of the dashboard still says Google Ads is connected. Pick campaigns to import before metrics can sync. See Download a Google Ads account into a preview.

## Why didn't I get a comment notification?

The bell only catches a comment posted while you have that preview open in this browser. A comment posted while you were away reaches you by email, when you are the preview's creator or someone mentions you. The bell does not show your own comment.

## How do I mark notifications read or dismiss them?

- Mark all read marks every notification as read.
- Hover over one and click Dismiss to remove it.
- Clear all notifications, at the bottom, empties the list.

The list is kept for this browser tab, up to the last 50. A new browser tab starts with an empty list.

## Does the bell send me emails?

No. The bell only shows in the app. Emails come separately: comment emails, Notify when viewed on a share link, and replies to your clients. See Comment on a preview.

## Can I get comment alerts in Slack?

Yes, on plans that include Slack notifications. Open Settings in the left menu, then Integrations. The Slack notifications card says Included in your plan when you can use it.

1. In Slack, create an incoming webhook in your Slack workspace settings and copy its address.
2. Paste it into Webhook URL. Channel name is optional and only for display.
3. Click Connect Slack. A test message goes to your channel, and you see "Slack connected! A test message was sent to your channel."

Each comment, reply or mention that sends a comment email then posts to that channel too. Click Disconnect to stop. If the card says Connection lost, the webhook stopped responding. Disconnect and add the webhook again.

Slack notifications are not part of the Free tier or of Studio. On those plans the card shows a Premium lock, and Connect Slack is greyed out.
