The live preview has a desktop view and a mobile view for almost every format. Two icons above the preview switch between them. On a desktop browser your client can switch them on the share link too.

## Find the mobile preview toggle

In the PPC Ad Editor editor, look at the bar above the live preview. The monitor icon is Desktop view. The phone icon is Mobile view. Hover over an icon to see its name. Click the phone icon to see the ad on a phone, and the monitor icon to go back to desktop. The dark icon is the view on screen. The bar stays at the top of the live preview while you scroll.

On a responsive search ad, the two icons sit next to Shuffle, on the same bar as One Ad, Three Ads, and Five Ads.

## What each format shows

- Responsive search ads open in Desktop view. Mobile view shows the ad in a phone frame under a Google search bar. When the preview has keywords, the search bar shows one of them, and Shuffle moves to the next one.
- Responsive display, Performance Max, and Demand Gen open in Desktop view. Pick a channel tab, such as Display or Gmail, then the desktop or mobile icon. Some channels show on one device only. On the Discover tab, Desktop view says Discover ads are not available on desktop devices, so switch to Mobile view.
- Meta single image or video and Meta carousel open on Facebook in Mobile view. Pick Facebook or Instagram, then the device.
- Meta story or reel is mobile only, on a 9:16 frame. Pick FB Story or IG Reel. It has no desktop view.
- LinkedIn single image or video and LinkedIn carousel open in Mobile view.
- YouTube opens in Desktop view. The device icons hide on the All and Shorts tabs. In-stream, in-feed, bumper and Shorts previews fill the width of the Ad Preview panel. In-feed has Search results and Home feed buttons to switch between the two placements.
- Programmatic ads preview in publisher placements instead, such as Mobile feed.

The view you pick only changes your screen. It is not saved on the preview, and it goes back to the format's starting view when you reload.

## Can my client check the mobile version from the share link?

Yes. On a desktop browser, your client clicks the phone icon, Mobile view, above the ad on the share link. On a phone or tablet the share link opens in the mobile layout on its own.

## What your client sees on a phone

Your client opens the share link in the phone's browser, with no account. On a phone or a tablet the page shows the ad first, with one set of actions pinned at the bottom. This works for every format and channel, so a Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, search or display ad each stays readable. The campaign list on the left is hidden.

- When the preview has several ads or ad groups, your client swipes left or right to move between ads, and picks an ad group from the chips near the top. Ad text opens in a sheet they can drag closed.
- If they refresh the page, it opens on the same ad they were on.
- The phone's Back button closes an open sheet or Comments first, instead of leaving the page.
- A YouTube ad opens on the placement you saved it on, so a Shorts ad opens on Shorts and fits the phone screen.
- While comments load, a sheet shows a loading placeholder. When a guest clicks Send, it shows Sending… until the comment is posted, so a double tap does not post it twice.
- On a link set to Commentor or Editor, the bottom bar has Comment with the number of comments. On a Viewer link with copying off, there is no bottom bar.
- On a link set to Approval, Request changes and Approve stay pinned to the bottom. Approve opens Approve this ad, and Request changes asks what needs to change. Once answered, the bar shows Approved or Changes requested, with Comments. Approval links are a Studio feature.
- More opens Share…, Copy link and Export. Export reads Off for this link when you left Allow export off.
- When you turned on Allow copying, the bottom bar also has Make it yours. See Share a preview with your client.

A desktop browser keeps the wider layout, with the live preview and the ad's fields side by side.

## Check the phone view yourself

Open the client link on your own phone, or click Mobile view in the editor. When you open the editor itself on a phone and the preview has more than one ad group, an Ad group menu at the top switches between them. To see the page the way your client does, click the See what they see icon on the live preview. It opens the client page in a new tab.
