You can build a Google Ads preview from files you already have: a Google Ads Editor export, a spreadsheet, a zip of images, or a brief. Start it from New Preview or Quick build with Import from file. Sitelinks, callouts, and structured snippets have their own bulk import in the Asset Library.

## I have a spreadsheet of ads. Can I use it?

Yes. Import your spreadsheet of ads into a Google Ads preview, for Responsive Search, Responsive Display or Performance Max. Start a new preview, pick Import from file, and drop in the CSV, XLSX or XLS file, as in the steps below. A Google Ads Editor export, or a workbook from our template, is read straight away and keeps your campaign and ad group names. Any other spreadsheet of ads goes to AI, which drafts a preview from what it can read. On the Free tier one file brings in up to 5 ads. See Is there a template I can fill in?

## How do I import a file?

1. On a dashboard, click New Preview. Pick Google Ads and a format: Responsive Search Ad, Responsive Display Ad, or Performance Max. Name the preview, pick Import from file, and click Import files. In Quick build, pick Google Ads, the format, then Import from file.
2. Import your files opens. Importing into: shows the channel and format, with change to go back and pick another.
3. Drop up to 10 files at once, or browse. A file past the tenth says Up to 10 files per import. Pick the ad language if you want, such as Auto-detect, English, or Danish.
4. Each file gets a row that says what will happen to it, such as ✓ parsed (marked free & instant), AI reading…, or needs a route.
5. Click the button at the bottom. It counts what was found, such as Review what we found, followed by a count like 12 ads · 4 assets. With nothing counted yet it reads Continue with what we found. While files are read it says Reading… or Working with AI….
6. Building your preview… shows Read your file, Kept your structure, Writing your ads, and Open in the editor. The editor then opens on the new preview.

## Which files can I import?

CSV, XLSX, XLS, TSV, and ZIP files, PDF, DOC, DOCX, and TXT briefs, and PNG, JPG, WEBP, or GIF images.

- A Google Ads Editor export, or a workbook exported from PPC Ad Editor, is read straight away. Its row says ✓ parsed and is marked free & instant. Your campaigns and ad groups keep their names.
- A spreadsheet with no campaigns in it, or one that cannot be read as a Google Ads sheet, goes to AI, which drafts a preview from what it can read.
- A brief also goes to AI, which drafts starter headlines and descriptions. Plain-text files such as TXT are read for the copy. For copy from a PDF or Word brief, use Draft with AI instead and add it under Source Documents.
- A zip of images, or a single image, goes onto your ad by aspect ratio, or to the asset library. An image named like a logo is used as the logo.
- A file the import cannot open, such as a Numbers file, says needs a route. Click Export as CSV & re-drop for how to save it as a CSV, then drop it again.

## Can I import into Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, Microsoft Ads, or Demand Gen?

No. Import from file works on Google Ads Responsive Search Ad, Responsive Display Ad, and Performance Max. It is greyed out on Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, Microsoft Ads, Programmatic, ChatGPT, X, Reddit and Multi-Channel previews, and on Demand Gen. Start those from scratch, or with Draft with AI where it is offered. For Microsoft Ads, see Microsoft Ads search previews.

## What if my file has errors?

If a Google Ads export still has problems after the automatic fix, a review step lists them, such as a headline over the character limit or a missing Final URL. The Fix for … with AI button, which names your format, shortens over-length headlines and strips keyword inserts for you. Download Error Report (CSV) saves the list and keeps you in the review, and Fix and re-upload then shows beside it. When it is ready, click the Import button, which shows the number of ads.

If AI has fixed your file, Cancel asks Discard the AI fixes and leave this import? and closing the window asks Close and discard the fixes AI applied to this file?. Click Cancel in that box to keep working. While the import is running, cancelling asks Cancel this import? This also clears the uploaded file. You can start again with a new file.

After you add a file, you can still click the drop zone to pick a different one.

If the import fails, Import failed offers Try Again. Cancel build stops it, and you can retry from the file you already uploaded.

## Is import on the Free tier?

Yes. On the Free tier, one import brings in up to 5 ads per file. If your file has more, the editor says Imported 5 of … ads (free plans import up to 5 per file). Upgrade to import the rest. Upgrade to Studio to import the rest. Today's Free plan imports into Responsive Search, Responsive Display and Performance Max. On an earlier Free plan, Performance Max needs Studio. Using AI to fix or draft copy uses AI credits.

## Is there a template I can fill in?

Yes, two ways. The Downloads page on our website, ppcadeditor.com/downloads/, has an Excel bulk sheet, PCADE_bulksheet_demo_template.xlsx. It was made for our earlier editor, so only part of it imports today. Import reads its Responsive Search Ads sheet, and its Keywords, Sitelinks, Callouts and Snippets sheets. The Expanded Text Ads, Call Only Ads and Calls sheets are not imported. Keep the header row in each sheet as it is, and replace the sample rows with your own.

Or export a responsive search preview as PPC Ad Editor Template (Excel), which gives you a workbook you can fill in and import again. It holds campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, and extensions, and it imports back cleanly. Apple Template (Excel) is an export for Apple Search Ads that only shows when it is turned on for your account. Contact support to ask about it.

## How do I bulk import sitelinks, callouts, and snippets?

1. Open the Asset Library and go to the Sitelinks, Callouts, or Structured Snippets tab.
2. Click Import from File. Import assets from file opens.
3. Drop a CSV or Excel file up to 10MB, such as a Google Ads Editor CSV export or a PPC Ad Editor Excel template, and click Continue.
4. Ready to import shows what was found. Click the Import button, which shows the number of assets.

The assets land in your Asset Library unassigned. Attach them to campaigns and ad groups any time. Duplicates are skipped. If nothing is found, check that your file uses the right column headers.

## Does importing change my Google Ads account?

No. Importing a file only builds a preview in the editor. Nothing is sent to Google Ads.
