Can my client approve an animated HTML5 banner? Yes. Upload the banner's ZIP to a Programmatic preview, and your client watches it play and approves it from a share link. This is the step-by-step.

## Before you start

- You need the banner as a ZIP. The ZIP holds an HTML file such as index.html, at most 200 files, up to 10 MB, and no more than 20 MB once unpacked. The HTML should state the banner's width and height, for example with an ad.size meta tag, and a click variable such as clickTag.
- The HTML5 Preview page on our website shows a sample banner only. It has no upload. To preview your own banner, use the editor.
- On the current Free plan, Programmatic and HTML5 banners are open. Your client can view and comment on a Free plan. The Approval link, where your client clicks Approve, is a Studio feature.

## Upload the banner

1. On your dashboard, click New Preview.
2. Under Where do you want to advertise?, pick Programmatic, then click Continue with Programmatic.
3. Click Create ad, then pick HTML5 banner.
4. Upload the ZIP. Each ZIP becomes its own HTML5 ad, and it plays in the placements that fit its size.
5. If you like, add a headline, a description, the advertiser, and a final URL on the ad card. There is no call to action field, because the button is part of the ZIP.

## Send it for approval

1. Click Share with client.
2. In Share preview, under Permission level, pick Approval, which is a Studio feature. Pick Commentor instead if you only want comments, which works on the Free tier too.
3. Copy the link and send it to your client.

Your client adds their name, then sees the banner play. On an Approval link they click Approve, or Request changes, type what should change, and click Send request. The person who created the preview gets an email when your client approves or asks for changes. Each ad shows Approved or Changes requested.

## If the banner changes after approval

Replace the ZIP or save a change to an approved ad, and its status goes to Review Required. Send the same link again so your client can approve the new one. Approval links need Studio.

## What this does not do

HTML5 banners do not export, and AI drafting is off for them. The editor previews the banner in publisher placements. It does not upload it to an ad platform.
