You can ask an AI assistant such as Claude, Cursor or Windsurf to build an ad preview. Without an account it shows you a mockup with a link to save it. With an API key it can also hand you a share link straight away. In the ChatGPT and Claude chat apps you can also see the ad as a mockup inside the chat, with no account, and click Save & share to keep it. See Preview an ad inside ChatGPT or Claude. It works through pcade-mcp, a small connector you add to the assistant once. The assistant writes the ad, PPC Ad Editor builds the preview, and you get a link you can open and send.

## How do I set it up?

1. Add pcade-mcp to your assistant's MCP settings. The setup steps for each assistant are on ppcadeditor.com/mcp/. For most assistants the command is npx -y pcade-mcp.
2. Fully quit and reopen the assistant. Connectors only load when it starts.
3. Ask for an ad, for example a Google Search ad for a local bakery with its website. The assistant looks up the ad format rules first, then builds the preview.

You need Node.js installed for npx to work. If the assistant says npx: command not found, install Node.js and restart it.

## What does the assistant get back?

It depends on whether the connector has your API key.

- Without an API key, the assistant can do two things: look up the ad format specs, which cover field counts, character limits and supported media, and show a mockup of the ad. With the mockup comes a save link. Open it within 7 days and save the ad to a free PPC Ad Editor account to edit it, share it with a client, or collect comments.
- With an API key, the assistant can also create and share the preview in one step. You get a link to the shared preview and a link to open it in your dashboard.

Long lines are cut to each field's character limit. If the assistant sends more headlines, descriptions or long headlines than the format takes, only the first ones the format allows are used and the rest are left out of the preview and the saved ad. The assistant is told which lines were left out, so it can tell you.

## Which ad formats can an AI assistant build?

An AI assistant can build these: Google Search, Google Display, Performance Max and Demand Gen, YouTube, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) single image, carousel and story ads, and LinkedIn single image and carousel ads. It can look up the specs of more formats than that, but it cannot build ChatGPT, X, Reddit, Microsoft Ads search or Programmatic ads. Build those in the editor with New Preview. See Ad formats in the editor.

## Do I need an account? How many previews can I make without one?

No account is needed to see a mockup. Without an API key the assistant shows the ad and gives you a save link, and chat previews have a daily limit. Without a key, the assistant cannot make a share link for you. If it tries, it is told that this step needs a PPC Ad Editor API key and to show the ad as a mockup instead. Save the mockup to a free account to get your share link.

To have the assistant create share links directly, sign in with an API key. API keys are on Enterprise workspaces. On other plans the API Keys pane in Settings says API access requires Enterprise. See Product settings.

## Can I keep a guest preview?

Yes, if you save it. Open the save link the assistant gave you within 7 days and save it to a free PPC Ad Editor account, which gives you your own dashboard. After 7 days an unsaved mockup is deleted, so ask the assistant for a new one. See Preview an ad inside ChatGPT or Claude.

## Does it send ads to Google Ads?

No. It builds previews. PPC Ad Editor does not push ads to Google Ads. To get a file for Google Ads Editor, open the preview in the editor and click Export.
