Click Comments in the header to open the comments panel. It starts just below any notice line at the top of the page, so its title and close button stay in view. It lists every thread, with All, Unresolved and Resolved tabs. Reply to a thread, jump to the line it is about, and resolve it when the note is done.

## How do I leave a comment?

- On one line: select words in the live preview and click Comment, or Comment on followed by the field name. You can also use the comment icon beside each line on the Preview tab.
- On the whole preview: type in Add a comment… at the bottom of the panel and click Post. Ctrl+Enter, or Cmd+Enter on a Mac, posts too.

A comment on a line stays pinned to that field. Click a thread to jump to it. If the field was removed, the thread says Component removed or disassociated.

## How do I reply to or resolve a comment?

Open the thread, type in Reply..., and press Enter. Click the circle on a thread to Mark as resolved. Click it again to Mark as unresolved. The link icon, Copy link to thread, copies a link that opens that exact thread.

## Can I edit or delete someone else's comment? Can a client delete our notes on a shared preview?

No. Edit and delete only show on comments you wrote yourself. Hover your own comment and click the pencil, Edit, to change the text, or the trash icon, Delete, to remove it. On anyone else's comment, a teammate's or a client's, there is no pencil and no trash icon, so their note stays as they wrote it. The same goes for a client on a share link. They can edit and delete their own comments, and they cannot edit or delete your notes. If a comment is no longer needed, reply to it or mark it as resolved.

## How does client commenting work on a share link?

1. Share the preview with the link set to Commentor. Your client opens it in a browser with no account.
2. They click Comments, or click a headline, a description or the primary text to comment on that line. That includes the line that says No primary text added yet. On a view-only link, the click says This link is view-only and asks them to have the sender turn on comments. Images, the logo, the button and the URL are not click targets, so they use a general comment for those.
3. The first time they post, Join the conversation asks for Your name. They can click Start commenting, or click Skip to browse without commenting first.
4. Their comment carries a Guest badge with the name they typed, and it lands in your Comments panel.

Your client can comment on a line, reply and resolve threads. They cannot edit the ad on a Commentor link.

On a ChatGPT ad, a comment on the title or the description shows on that line in the shared preview, the same as a comment on a Google headline.

## Does my client get an email when we reply?

Yes, when they left an email. Join the conversation shows an Email field marked Optional, with a note that we'll email them when the team replies. When a signed-in member of your workspace replies in a thread your client commented in, your client gets New reply to your comment. View the reply opens their own link at that thread.

Your client gets no reply email when:

- they left the Email field empty, or the form did not show an Email field
- the reply came from another guest on a share link, not from your team
- they clicked Unsubscribe from reply emails in an earlier reply email
- their link was regenerated or paused since they commented

## Who gets an email about a new comment?

- The person who created the preview, for every comment that is not their own. The email goes to each address ticked under Receive notifications on their Profile.
- The workspace owner, for a client comment when there is no creator to email.
- Anyone mentioned in the comment.
- The Also notify address, if one is set in Share preview under Notify when viewed. It is notified in addition to the Profile addresses.

A client comment arrives as Your client commented on, followed by the preview name. The link in the email opens that thread, even on a busy preview with hundreds of threads. Several quick posts from one person within a few seconds send one email. If your workspace has Slack notifications connected, a comment that sends these emails also posts to your Slack channel.

## Can a reviewer suggest the new wording?

Yes. On a comment thread, a reviewer clicks Add proposed revision, types the replacement under Suggest replacement copy…, and clicks Save proposal. A counter shows the field's character limit. The thread then shows Proposed revision, Suggested by and the reviewer's name, with the old and new text side by side.

Someone with edit access clicks Apply to put the new text in the ad, and Undo to restore the previous text. After Apply, the thread still says Suggested by and the name of the person who wrote the proposal, and a badge reads Applied by and the name of whoever applied it. Applying a client's suggestion never makes it look like yours. The remove icon, Remove proposal, deletes it without applying. A client on a Commentor link can write a proposal but cannot apply it. If two people edit the same proposal at once, you see This proposal was updated by someone else, with Overwrite and Use theirs. Sitelinks, callouts, structured snippets, keywords and the business name have no auto-apply, so an editor makes the change by hand.

## How do I clear a pile of comments at once?

Click Apply All at the top of the comments panel. AI suggests an edit for each open comment, up to 50 per run. Tick the changes you want and click Apply. The edits go into the ad and those threads are resolved. It uses one AI credit per comment and needs edit access. See Clear a pile of comments at once with Apply All.

## How do I mention a teammate?

Type @ in a comment, or click the Mention icon, then pick a person from your workspace. They get an email that you mentioned them. Clients on a share link cannot be mentioned. Mentions are a Studio feature, and they are off on the Free tier.

## Are comments on the Free tier?

Yes. Comments are available on the Free tier and on Studio. On the Free tier, a preview takes up to 3 guest comments. Your client sees how many are used, such as 1 of 3 guest comments used. When the limit is reached they see Comment limit reached, with Notify Account Owner and Got it. Studio has no guest comment limit.

The limit counts comments and replies posted by guests on a share link. Comments from you and your teammates do not count, and a guest comment that was deleted no longer counts.

## What happens when my client clicks Notify Account Owner?

The person who created the preview gets an email titled Comment limit reached on a shared preview. If that person is no longer active, an Owner or Admin of the workspace gets it. Your client sees The account owner has been notified. One email goes out per preview every 24 hours, so a second click in that time says The account owner was already notified recently. To lift the limit, move the workspace to Studio.

On a view-only link, clicking Comments shows Comments are not enabled, with the same Notify Account Owner button.

## Why is the comments panel title hidden behind the reconnect banner?

It should not be. The panel starts just below any notice line at the top of the page, so its title and close button stay visible.

## Why does the panel say Loading all comments…?

A preview with many comments loads them in batches, and every thread loads. Until the last batch is in, the count on the Comments button and on the tabs ends in +, such as 50+, and the panel says Loading all comments… instead of a total. It takes a second or two. After everything has loaded, hover the Comments button to see a summary such as 3 open comments, or 12 comments, all resolved. If some comments fail to load, the panel says "Some comments didn't load. Counts may be low." Click Retry.

## Comment threads won't load when I'm signed in to another account

Open the client link again. A link from another workspace now opens with that link's permission while you are signed in to your own account, and its comment threads load.
