A preview holds campaigns. Each campaign holds ad groups, and each ad group holds ads. The left sidebar of the editor lists the campaigns. Click the arrow beside a campaign to see its ad groups, and click an ad group to edit its ads.

The names follow the channel. A Google preview says Campaign and Adgroup. A Meta preview says Ad Set for the ad group. A LinkedIn preview says Campaign Group and Campaign, the way LinkedIn names them.

## What does "Ad Group (4)" mean in the preview

It is a count. In the Preview view of a responsive search ad, From Ad Group (4) under Sitelinks means four sitelinks are attached to this ad group. The same label shows under Callouts, Structured Snippets, Call, and Business Names, with its own count.

## What From Account and From Campaign mean above sitelinks

In the Preview view, Associated Assets lists the sitelinks, callouts, structured snippets, calls, and business names this ad uses. They are grouped by where each one is attached:

- From Account, attached to the whole account.
- From Campaign, attached to this campaign.
- From Ad Group, attached to this ad group only.
- Other, with no level recorded.

The number is how many are attached at that level. To change them, open Assets and check or uncheck the ad group. See Asset library.

Two other numbers you may see:

- In the sidebar of the new layout, the grey number after a campaign name is how many ad groups it holds.
- In a PDF export with Ad groups switched on, the table of contents shows the number of ads after each ad group, such as (4 ads).

## Add a campaign or an ad group

- Click New Campaign. In the new layout it is at the bottom of the campaign list. In the classic layout it is at the top.
- To add an ad group, expand a campaign and click New Adgroup, or New Ad Set on Meta. It shows in the Editor view.

New ones get a name such as Untitled Campaign 2 or Untitled Adgroup 2. Ad group numbers can skip, because ad groups in trash still count.

## Rename, duplicate, or delete

- Rename. Double-click the name in the sidebar, type, and press Enter. Esc cancels. You can also click the name of the campaign above the form.
- The ⋯ menu on a row, shown when you hover, has Edit, Duplicate, and Delete. A campaign also has Ad Assets, except on Meta. A duplicate is named with (Copy) at the end.
- Delete asks you to choose Send to Trash or Delete permanently. See Trash to bring one back.

### Duplicating an ad group with the same keyword twice

Duplicate works on a campaign or an ad group that has the same keyword twice in different capitalization, such as running shoes and Running Shoes. The copy keeps one of each, so it does not fail on them.

Campaigns and ad groups cannot be dragged into a different order.

## Add, rename, and delete ads

The ads in an ad group show as tabs above the form.

- Click + (Add new ad) to add one. It is named Ad 2, Ad 3, and so on.
- Hover a tab and click the pencil (Rename ad) to type a new name. Press Enter to save.
- Duplicate ad copies it. Delete ad removes it. An ad group always keeps at least one ad, so the last one cannot be deleted.

An ad group holds up to 3 ads. Demand Gen is not held to 3.

## Why can't I add an ad to the sample dashboard?

The sample dashboard is for looking around, so it does not take new ads, campaigns or copies. If you click + (Add new ad) or Duplicate ad there, the editor shows one note, Build your own ad in a new dashboard. Samples stay as samples. Nothing is added. Create a new dashboard and build your ad there. See Sample ad.

## Why can I not add a third ad to my ad group on the free plan?

The Free plan allows 2 ads per ad group, so a third ad in the same ad group needs Studio. To make room, delete an ad in that ad group, or add the ad to another ad group. The Free tier includes 2 campaigns per preview, 2 ad groups per campaign, and 2 ads per ad group. The ad tabs show your count, such as 2/2 editable ads, and hovering it says Free includes 2 editable ads per ad group. Upgrade to edit the rest.

Adding one more opens Ready to build the full ad?, with an offer to upgrade to Studio. Click Keep working in Free to close it. Studio is $149 a month and unlocks the full structure.

When an AI draft builds more than the Free tier includes, the extra campaigns, ad groups, and ads stay visible and locked, with a Studio badge. Deleting one, or sending it to trash, frees its slot.
