Use Approval when a client needs to sign off on the ads. This is how approve works. Set the preview's share link to Approval and send it. Your client clicks Approve or Request changes on the shared page, with no account and no login. You see the answer at the top of the preview in the editor, in the Approval column of your dashboard, and in an email. Approval is a Studio feature. It is not available on the Free tier.

## How does approve work?

Approve works on a share link. You set the link's Permission level to Approval and send it. Your client opens it, with no account, and clicks Approve or Request changes. Their answer, their name and any comment show at the top of the preview, in the Approval column of your dashboard, and in an email to you. Approve needs Studio.

## How do I send a preview for approval?

1. Open the preview and click Share with client. Or, right after you copy the client link, click Approve on the card that says Send to client for approval.
2. In Share preview, under Permission level, click Approval. Its line reads "Client approves or requests revisions in one click".
3. Optional. Type a Reviewer email, and a Message for reviewer of up to 500 characters.
4. Click Copy, then send the link to your client yourself, by email or chat.

The line under the link then reads "Anyone with this link can view, comment, and approve". The editor shows Awaiting reviewer approval at the top of the preview.

Add the Reviewer email even though you send the link yourself. It is the address Send reminder and Re-request approval write to, and the name shown beside the status until your client answers.

## Who can send a preview for approval?

Anyone in your workspace who can change the preview's share link: an Owner, an Admin, an Editor or a Standard User with access to that dashboard. A Commenter cannot change share settings.

## What does my client see when I ask them to approve?

The live ad, with Request changes and Approve. They do not need an account.

On a computer, a dark bar across the top of the shared page holds the two buttons.

- Approve opens Confirm Approval. They type their Name, an optional Email and an optional Comment, then click Confirm.
- Request changes opens Request changes. They type their Name and a Comment describing the changes needed, then click Submit. The comment is required.

On a phone or tablet, Request changes and Approve sit at the bottom of the screen.

- Approve opens Approve this ad, with Name, Email and Comment. They tap Confirm approval.
- Request changes opens Request changes, with Name and What should change?. They tap Send request.

Name is required in both. After they answer, the page shows Approved by, or Changes requested by, with their name and the date, and their comment under it. Your client can also leave comments on the preview while they review.

When you send a preview back after changes, the bar reminds your client of their last answer, such as Previously: You requested changes on, with the date.

## What happens after my client approves or requests changes?

- The person who asked for approval gets an email. Its subject names the reviewer, then says approved, or requested changes on, followed by the preview name. The reviewer's comment is in the email, with View in dashboard.
- The bar at the top of the preview in the editor changes to Approved by, or Changes requested by, with the reviewer's name.
- The Approval column in your dashboard's preview list shows Approved or Changes req.

The first answer is the one that counts. If someone opens the same link after it was answered, they see the answer, not the buttons. A second answer sent at the same time is refused with "This request has already been responded to".

If your client typed an email when they approved, it is saved as the link's Reviewer email.

## They asked for changes. How do I send it back?

1. Make the edits in the editor. The share link always shows the current ad.
2. Click Re-request approval on the bar at the top of the preview, or in Approval details from the Approval column.
3. You see Approval re-requested. The status goes back to In review, marked (rev.) in the Approval column.

If the link has a Reviewer email, the reviewer gets a new request email that says "Please review the updated version." Your client opens the same link again and sees Request changes and Approve once more, on the updated ad.

Re-request approval only shows after Changes requested. Once a preview is approved, there is no button to ask again on that link.

## What if I change the link away from Approval?

If you switch the link to Viewer, Commentor or Editor before your client answers, the open request is withdrawn. The buttons leave the shared page, and Awaiting reviewer approval leaves the editor. An answer your client already gave stays on record.

## Can I send a group of previews for approval?

No. Approval works on a single preview's link. In Share group, the Approval option does not show. A group link can be Viewer, Commentor or Editor. Send each preview's own link for approval.

A Programmatic preview is reviewed creative by creative. Your client clicks Approve or Request changes on each creative, and the Approval column shows the overall result.

## Which plan includes approval?

Studio. Approval is not available on the Free tier. There Approval carries a Studio tag in Share preview. Clicking it, or clicking Approve on the card after you copy a client link, opens the Approval workflow offer for Studio. The link keeps its current permission. PPC Ad Editor on the Studio plan is $149 a month. Sharing a link so a client can look and comment works on the Free tier.

If a workspace leaves Studio, its approval links become comment links. Your client can still look and comment, but the Approve and Request changes buttons no longer show.

## Does approval keep old versions of the ad?

No. Approval records who approved or asked for changes, and when. The share link always shows the current ad. It is not version history. Approval does not publish or push the ad to an ad platform either.
