Send the ads you picked on an AdScanner job into a new preview in PPC Ad Editor. You do it from the **Selected ads** panel on the job page.

1. Open the job in **Grid** view and pick ads. Click a card, or its **Add to Studio** button.
2. Under **Dashboard** in **Selected ads**, choose the dashboard the preview goes in. To make a new one, type in **New dashboard name** and click **Create**.
3. Check the preview box. It reads **New preview ·** the advertiser and month, then the campaign and how many ad groups it will hold.
4. Click **Send N to Studio**. If picked ads have no words yet, the button reads **Reading N ads…** while AdScanner reads each ad's image. Then it reads **Sending…**.
5. When the button reads **Sent to Studio**, click **Open the preview**. A mixed send shows **Open the grouped preview**. The preview opens in a new browser tab, so the AdScanner job stays open behind it.

## How the ads land, and why a send can create two previews

The preview holds one campaign named after the advertiser. Each format gets its own ad group. Search ads land as an RSA ad group and display ads as an RDA ad group. Image ads that show a picture land as display ads, with any words AdScanner read from the picture. When you send both search and display ads, you get one preview per format, grouped together, and the message reads **Sent as a grouped preview**, followed by the count, such as 2 previews. Display ads land without their image, because the editor's import has no image field, so add an image in the editor. Video ads are held back, and the panel says **Held**, with a note that Studio's import doesn't accept video yet.

## Open the preview opens a new tab

After a send, **Open the preview**, or **Open the grouped preview**, opens the new preview in PPC Ad Editor in another browser tab. The AdScanner job stays open in the first tab, and the button stays on **Sent to Studio**. Your preview is also in the dashboard you chose.

## Ads left out of a send

A text ad AdScanner could not read is left out, and the panel says how many, for example **1 ad could not be read and was left out**. Its picture stays in the job. If your PPC Ad Editor plan limits how many ads a preview holds, the message says **N ads did not fit your plan's limit and were left out.** **Exactly these ads. Nothing padded, nothing invented.** means AdScanner adds nothing you did not pick.

After reading the pictures, the panel can say that some ads **came back headline-only**, **could not be read**, **were not attempted** because the reader stopped early, or that AdScanner has **stopped retrying** them. Ads the reader stopped before reaching can be sent again. AdScanner troubleshooting explains each note.

## If the send shows an error

The send stops and the panel shows the reason in red. The most common are **Your PPC Ad Editor session expired. Reload and try again.**, a message starting **Could not reach PPC Ad Editor**, and **PPC Ad Editor refused the import:** with a reason. If a read was refused first, for example **Server-side copy recovery is off while the subscription is past due.**, nothing was sent. AdScanner troubleshooting lists every message and what to do.

## Choose a dashboard for the preview

The **Dashboard** menu in the AdScanner **Selected ads** panel lists your PPC Ad Editor dashboards. It reads **Loading dashboards…** while the list loads, then shows your first dashboard. Click it to choose the one the new preview should go in. To make a new dashboard, type in **New dashboard name** and click **Create**. A new dashboard counts against your plan's dashboard limit, and a full plan is refused. **Create** stays off until you pick at least one ad that can be sent, and the menu says **Add at least one ad before making a dashboard, so the new one does not land empty.**

## Before you can send

Sending from AdScanner needs a PPC Ad Editor workspace. If the panel says **Open the PPC Ad Editor workspace you want this capture to land in to send it**, open that workspace in the editor and come back.

## Can I send the entire scan without picking ads one by one?

Yes. On the job page, leave **Search ad text…** empty and click **Select all N**, which picks every ad on screen, or click **Add all N** on a group. Then send them from the **Selected ads** panel. Video ads cannot go to the editor yet.

## The Send to Studio page for a whole job

A link to /adscanner/send with a job opens the **Send to Studio** page. It sends the whole job instead of a selection. The buttons in AdScanner open the job page, where you pick ads, so you reach this page only from a saved link.

1. Under **Choose a project**, pick a project from **Select a project…**. To make a new one, type in **Or name a new project…** and click **Create project**. **Refresh** reloads the list.
2. **What will be sent** says how many ads and campaigns go, and the name of the preview.
3. Click **Send to Studio**. It reads **Sending…**, then a green box says what was sent, with a link to open the preview in PPC Ad Editor.

Only ads with headlines or a final URL are sent. When some have neither, the page says how many carry no copy and will be left out. If the capture has no ad copy at all, the page says **This capture has no ad copy, so there is nothing to import as a whole job.** and offers **Open this job**, where you can pick ads instead, and **Back to job history**.

## Messages on the Send to Studio page

- **No job selected.** The link had no job in it. Open the job from **Job history** and pick ads there.
- **No workspace selected.** Open the PPC Ad Editor workspace you want the capture to land in, then come back.
- **No projects found for this workspace.** Type a name in **Or name a new project…** and click **Create project**, or make a dashboard in PPC Ad Editor and click **Refresh**.
- **Could not build the import payload**, with a code. Reload the page and try again.
